Mt. Thinchenkhang Climbing Expedition - An Elaborate Description
Though graded as a trekking peak, climbing Tenchenkhang is a bit more than that. Anyone who has trekked to Goechala or Sandakphu will be fascinated by this peak, especially the view of this peak from the campsite of Thansing is just breathtaking !!
Tenchenkhang offers the apt amount of difficulties to any aspiring mountaineer. If you want to convert yourself into a mountaineer or would like to test your mountaineering skills, this is the peak for you. However, if you underestimate0 this peak to be a mere trekking peak, difficult mountaineering learning awaits you.

Mt. Thinchenkhang Climbing Expedition - Why Its A Must-Do
- Summit of Tenchenkhang 6010 meters
- Panorama of more than 16 peaks of Bhutan, Sikkim and Nepal. Chomolhari, Narsing, Jupono, Tenchenkhang, Pandim, Simvo, Goecha Peak, Forked Peak, Kanchenjunga, Kumbhakarna, Frey, Rathong, Koktang, South Kabru, North Kabru, etc
- Trek through the rhododendron forest in the Himalayas. Rhododendrons bloom during late March to early July.
- Birding and animal sight, if lucky.
- Sunrise and sunset on the mountain peaks.
- Lepcha, Sikkimese, Nepali and Subba culture.
- Borderline treks which swings between India and Nepal multiple times. The villages that comes on the way are very beautiful.

Climbing Permit For Mt. Thinchenkhang
We will make the Climbing permit for Mt. Thinchenkhang. The permit fee charged to clients will be on an actual basis + 15% HH Service Charge. Below is the tentative structure of the peak climbing permit.
IMF Handling Fee:
- US$ 500 for a party of two members.
- US$ 200 each, for additional members up to seven.
- Thereafter, for each additional member US$ 250, up to a maximum limit of twelve members.
- Liaison Officer Equipment Hire charges US$ 500 in addition to the handling charges.
Sikkim Peak Climbing Royalty:
(a) For foreign expedition team: US $350 per team of up to four members, US $500 per team of up to eight members and US $75 for every additional member.
(b) For domestic expedition team: Rs. 15,000/- per team of up to eight members and Rs. 1,500/- for every additional member.
(c) For local expedition team: Rs. 3,000/- per team of up to eight members and Rs. 300/- for every additional member.
Kanchenjunga National Park Fees:
For Indian Nationals: INR 350/- per head for the first 7 days. INR 40/- per head-per day for additional days.
For Foreign Nationals: INR 560/- per head for the first 7 days. INR 80/- per head -per day for additional days.
For Students (Indian Nationals): INR 80/- per head for the first 7 days. INR 20/- per head -per day for additional days.
For Local Guides and Porters with the Team: 10/- per head per day
Tent Pitching Charge: 50/- per tent per day
Bed Charges in Log Hut: 100/- per bed per day

The month of April and from October to November are good months to climb Thinchenkhang Peak in Sikkim. Post monsoons are the best time to climb it because of stable weather
What Are The Fitness Requirement Of The Mt. Thinchenkhang Climbing Expedition?
Although being a trekking peak, climbing Mt. Thinchenkhang is not a simple task and is more difficult than climbing a 6000-meter peak of Ladakh. It requires good stamina, fitness and nerves.
